The Long Road Out
Garden FaeryThis is an old collage, on board made with real pressed flowers from the garden, watercolour paint and paper images.
The female image is from the painting ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’ by Hieronymus Bosch, so it’s quite fitting for IF ‘Your Paradise’.
In the British Isles there are quite a lot of myths/stories about faeries.
Perhaps these are like the genius loci, the spirit of place and the stories and descriptions are the human, imaginative response to the energy of particular local areas, springs, rivers, ancient trees etc.
Perhaps to express our longing for a lost paradise?
